Legal issues - cosmetic surgery on children - This is a link to the Institute for Intersex Children and the Law. IICL was founded in 2006 and is the first organization in the United States to undertake a coordinated strategy of legal advocacy for the rights of children with intersex conditions.

Ambiguous Gender: The Intersex Surgery Debate  - This article from the Gay NZ website 20 June 2007. -  While intersex rights groups want an end to surgery on intersexed infants, and informed consent for parents and families of possible risks, some medical groups disagree. What's at stake here?

Surgery on intersex babies has some features in common with non- therapeutic male circumcision and female genital cutting. The International Coalition for Genital Integrity works to end all three. The Intactivism Pages ("Genital Integrity for All") have a page devoted to intersex.

Intersex Society of North America - The ISNA site is the first internet site on Intersex issues and  holds a wealth of information and links.

The UK Intersex Association

Pacific Centre for Sex and Society - This site is at Milton Diamond's University in Hawaii and has good reference to his published work on intersex issues.

Intersex Initiative - Intersex Initiative (IPDX) is a Portland, Oregon based national activist and advocacy organization for people born with intersex conditions. Director Emi Koyama has been an intern-turned-staffer at Intersex Society of North America before founding Intersex Initiative in January 2003.

Links to the Australian and New Zealand Gay and Transgender community

The Asexuality Aotearoa New Zealand (AANZ) website has been specifically created to provide information for the asexual community of Aotearoa New Zealand. AANZ aims to increase the awareness and visibility of asexuality in Aotearoa New Zealand and to encourage the formation of asexual groups throughout the country.

Agender New Zealand provides support throughout New Zealand for ALL of the Transgendered Community.

Working It Out is Tasmania 's only service specifically for lesbian, gay, bisexual, intersex and transgender Tasmanians.

  At Working It Out provides the following state-wide services:

·          counselling and support for newly-identifying LGBTI people, or those experiencing difficulties relating to their sexual or gender identity;

·          we coordinate various Peer Support networks. Through this we aim to strengthen our communities, and link people who have personal insight of "working it out" with others.

·          we provide community education, professional development and training in the areas of gender identity and sexuality
